On March 21st in Parliament, Labour stood side by side with sacked P&O workers and fought every step of the way for their jobs and livelihoods.

Despite the synthetic outrage of the Tories today at Prime Ministers Questions, when they had the chance to vote with Labour, stand up for loyal P&O workers and outlaw cruel fire and rehire for good – they didn’t even bother to turn up.

They took the side of the overseas billionaires over a loyal workforce in Britain. The fight is not over.

We cannot allow bad bosses to be given the green light to exploit workers and accelerate a race to the bottom. That’s why Labour are demanding these loyal P&O workers are reinstated and that employment rights in this country are transformed for good.

This moment has to be a line in the sand. A decade-long assault on workers’ rights under successive Conservative governments must come to an end.

Add your name, demand P&O workers are reinstated and fire and rehire is outlawed once and for all

It will be the driving mission of the next Labour government to end the poverty wages and insecure work that blights millions of lives and is holding back our economy.

A Labour government will transform rights with a powerful enforcement body to protect workers, guarantee protections from day one, expand sectoral collective bargaining, strengthen union rights and end cruel fire and rehire for good.

Labour will make Britain work for working people.

In solidarity,
Louise Haigh MP

Shadow Secretary of State for Transport.
