Welcome to our Political School!

We’re delighted you’re joining us and we’re looking forward to meeting you. This page includes key information you’ll need before and during the course and will be updated throughout.

Please review the key information, complete the questionnaire, and prepare for the speech task. Further essential guidance for the speech task can be found at the bottom of the page along with a preliminary agenda.

These activities are an important part of the programme and will help you get the most from it, so please set aside time to complete them in advance. If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, please contact me at Robbie@labourunions.org.uk.

Working together guidelines (click to download )📄

Before the course, please ensure that you have read and familiarised yourself with our Working Together Guidelines, which set out how we expect everyone to conduct themselves throughout the course. These guidelines are designed to help create a respectful, inclusive and supportive learning environment, and we ask that everyone takes the time to review them in advance: Working Together Guidelines.

Tell Us What Motivates You

Ahead of the Political School, we’d love to hear what brought you here. Please send a one-minute video to robbie@labourunions.org.uk, including:

  • Why you applied for the course.
  • An issue or campaign you’re passionate about.

No need for anything fancy – just a simple video filmed on your phone or webcam is perfect. This will help us understand what drives you and what you hope to gain from the programme. We need your video by November 15th.

This task, along with the questionnaire, will also help prepare you for our Sunday morning activity, where you’ll be delivering a short speech. It’s nothing to worry about, you’re in a supportive environment!
