Labour Unions Skills Share
You’ve got something worth sharing – let’s hear it.
As political school graduates you’ve already taken action – winning changes, building campaigns, and turning big ideas into practical tools members can use. You’ve picked up skills and insights that others can learn from. That’s what the Labour Unions Skills Share is all about.
We’re creating a space for graduates to share ideas, expertise, tactics and experiences with each other – through short online sessions led by you. It’s about learning from what’s worked in different places, sectors and unions and giving others the chance to pick up something new.
Alongside these sessions, we’ll also be inviting special guest speakers from across the movement to join us – adding extra insight from campaigns, negotiations, organising and the world of politics.
What is it?
A short 30 minute Zoom session, led by you and open to other political school graduates. It’s informal and practical – no slides or speeches needed, unless you want to. We’ll help you shape the session, talk it through with you in advance, and handle all the logistics of making it happen.
This programme is about bringing together the experience and insight that already exists across our movement. What you’ve figured out could help someone else win faster, go further, or try something different. That’s what this is all about.
What could your session be about?
- Getting your employer or a decision maker to back a union demand
- Using Labour’s workers’ rights plans to push for change in your region or workplace
- Explaining a policy or work issue that will inform
- Using press, data or software
- Trying something new in your workplace, branch or community. What’s working?
You don’t have to be an expert – just someone who’s knows how to make things happen!
