The Labour Party was founded, out of the trade union movement, to be a political voice for working people – and, ultimately, to form a government to govern in the interests of working people, their families, and communities.
The link from the workplace to the party through the affiliated trade unions is what makes Labour strong. It is also what makes our party unique. We are a party of, and for, working people – a voice that understands the issues they face in their everyday lives, and the solutions to those problems.
Not everybody understands our history or why the union link is important. Share our video to help explain the union link and why it matters. Our video does a great job of explaining our shared history and the importance of trade union voices at the heart of the Party.
The Labour union link is more important than ever as we work together to tackle the urgent problems we face as a country, from falling wages to stretched public services. Share our video across your social media networks, help us celebrate our shared history and strengthen the link.
