Working people are finding it hard to make ends meet, jobs are insecure and public services are struggling.
Only the election of a Labour Government will deliver £100 billion of investment in the Scottish economy and public services.
Labour:
- will provide the funding for real pay rises for public service workers, funding a 5% pay rise in April, and we expect the Scottish Government to honour this where pay is devolved.
- will introduce a real Living Wage of at least £10 an hour immediately, for all workers aged 16 and over, and ban zero hours contracts.
- will kick-start a green industrial revolution, creating up to 100,000 good, skilled jobs.
- will save people money on fares and bills by bringing rail, mail and energy into public ownership and rolling out a publicly owned full fibre broadband network, free to all.
- would make bus services work in the interests of passengers by providing 4,200 new green buses and making travel free for under 25s.
- will provide more funding for housing, and Scottish Labour would build 12,000 eco-friendly genuinely affordable social and council homes every year for 10 years.
- would protect our NHS and improve patient care with an additional £2 billion health funding for Scotland.
- would extend universal provision of free school meals to all school pupils and roll out meals during school holidays, boost funding for schools and increase teacher and support staff numbers.
- will provide the funding to give all 2, 3 and 4 year olds 30 hours free childcare every week, and Scottish Labour would move towards flexible, all-age, year-round, wrap-around affordable childcare.
- will win higher pay, more job security and a better deal at work by strengthening unions to give power back to working people.
