Last election cycle, we were able to capture great content that enabled us to produce effective union-focused comms. We want to repeat that in September in London and would like your help to identify workplaces and union members who are prepared to be photographed or filmed for pro-Labour TULO comms.
As well as being photographed if your members are also happy to be filmed in a short 20-30 second clip on a New Deal issue that impacts them, we’d be keen to facilitate that at the same time.
We’d like a mixture of individual and group photos as well as action photos. Ideally, they should be in uniform and identifiably associated with their work or a place that resembles a workplace. Activists could be photographed using or next to a piece of equipment, or simply be in a location with a strong work feel like a shop or depot etc. A uniform can go a long way in carrying a photo, so you don’t always have to be in a workplace, we’ve previously taken great photos on highstreets and outside stations in the past. We can work together to find a creative solution if there are any workplace logistical issues.
I’ve attached some photos that capture what we’re trying to achieve and have included one of the projects we’ve already got lined up to utilise new content. We’re very keen to have as many unions participating as possible, so please get back to me on workplaces and members you’d like to feature ASAP, but by 26th August at the latest. You may also want to consider some of your activists from our recent Political Schools.
I want to identify a couple of dates in the last two weeks of September 18th – 30th for photos and would like to do a few different shoots each day. Once I know options from different unions, I’ll be able to agree final dates with you.
